Handmade electric guitar from Finnish woods
"The Gekkon OrangeTele is a high-quality electric guitar, handmade from start to finish, featuring a body made of Finnish alder. It is an excellent wood for instruments, providing good resonance and sustain. The edge is lined with a black binding. The finish is done with Akzo Nobel IL-500 polyurethane lacquer mixed with red and yellow stain for a Flame burst coloration. The wood's patterns are beautifully visible through the lacquer.
The neck is also made of Finnish flamed maple, which is a beautiful and sturdy type of wood. The fretboard is made of very hard and clearly patterned Zebrano wood. There is no lacquer on the neck. The neck is treated with 'GreenSlide' wax/oil mixture, making it significantly smoother than a lacquered one. The bone nut is durable and ensures that the strings do not snag. The body is rounded at the neck attachment point for easy playing of high notes.
Wilkinson vintage microphones were chosen, which fit the Telecaster very well. The sounds are solid yet bright. A 4-position selector switch offers more sound options compared to a standard Telecaster.
A special feature of the guitar is a unique stand made from the same plank as the guitar! This stand is safe for the guitar, even in a living room!"– Harri Kekola
