The OH-14 Case Plus+ Humidifier uses the same evaporative membrane as the OH-5 Plus+ Humidifier, providing 50% more daily humidity than either the OH-6 Case Humidifier or the OH-1 Guitar Humidifier. This humidifier is designed for use in drier climates (desert, mountain or frigid north) where the relative humidity is below 25%. The OH-14 Case Plus+ Humidifier, like the OH-6 Case Humidifier, attaches to the inside of your instrument case. To accomplish this, two powerful neodymium magnets are inserted in the seam of the humidifier. The magnets attach to either a steel clip or a stainless steel strip with adhesive backing (both are provided with the humidifier). The steel clip fits over the side of your case, providing a flat vertical surface to which the magnets can adhere. The neodymium magnets are strong enough to keep the humidifier attached to the clip or strip, but still allow the user to remove the humidifier with ease.

The OH-14 Case Plus+ humidifier can be used to humidify the headstock of a guitar by attaching the clip over the backside of the case. The humidifier can also be used in stringed instrument cases such as violin, viola or cello by attaching the stainless steel strip to the inside of the instrument case with the double sided tape. The steel clip and strip give the user a wide variety of ways to attach the humidifier to the case. Like all of our humidifiers, we provide a 10 cc syringe for distilled water filling control.

Please Read Before Filling Oasis®
Handling your new Oasis® humidifier is simple, but it helps to know a few important things before starting.

Don’t dump out the crystals
There is a very small quantity of Humigel™ crystals, a dry, super water absorbent polymer, in every humidifier (.6 ccs). In most cases, you can shake the humidifier and hear them rattle around. Some users hear the rattling, open the cap and mistakenly dump them out. If you do this, you will need to purchase a Humigel™ replacement kit.

Hold Oasis by the yellow ends
Always hold the Oasis® humidifier by the yellow or brown ends rather than the fabric in the middle. The ends are rigid plastic which supports the structure of the humidifier. The middle blue or khaki section is soft squeezable fabric where water vapor escapes. If you squeeze the center while the cap is off the humidifier, Oasis® will behave like a toothpaste tube and eject the water and crystals. If you do this, you will need to purchase a Humigel™ replacement kit.

Fill Oasis® slowly
Oasis® typically holds slightly more than one ounce of water. When filling your Oasis® for the first time, the crystals will need a few minutes to absorb the water. If you try to fill the humidifier too quickly, it is easy to put in more water than it can hold. The crystals can be washed out with too much water. So, we recommend limiting the amount of water you initially put into the humidifier to 3 full syringes (10 cc’s each) and filling the humidifier slowly, giving the crystals time to absorb the water. We strongly recommend that you only use distilled water. Tap water contains minerals which will clog the Oasis® membrane over time. Watch carefully, and stop filling when the water reaches the top. After the initial filling of your Oasis® you will need to recharge the humidifier once a week with 7-10 cc’s of distilled water.

Sometimes, Humigel™ crystals may stick near the opening of the tube making it difficult to refill the device. If this happens, first bring the humidifier back to its original shape by gently holding the two yellow ends and pulling them away from each other. Secondly, hold the bottom yellow end, and gently tap your Oasis® on a hard service. This will knock the crystals loose to fall back towards the center of the humidifier. Then, proceed with refilling.

Spread the strings
Our soundhole humidifiers are designed to be installed and removed after the user spreads the strings. Since the humidifier is wider than the strings, installing or removing it without spreading the strings will damage the fabric on the humidifier and lead to premature failure of the humidifier.

While the original Blue Oasis provides sufficient humidity in many environments, it is not effective everywhere. The humidity demands of the desert, mountain states or frigid north exceed the humidification capacity of the OH-1. For this reason, we have developed the OH-5 Plus+ humidifier. The OH-5 Plus+ is the same size and shape as the original blue Oasis®, but is has a different liner which provides 50% more humidity output. Because the OH-5 Plus+ is the same size as the original Blue Oasis® and it has 50% greater humidity output, it will be necessary to refill the Oasis® OH-5 Plus+ more frequently than the original Blue Oasis®. Use the OH-5 when the environment outside the case has a relative humidity of 25% or less. Each OH-5 comes with a stabilizer bar for mounting the OH-5 humidifier and a 10 cc syringe for distilled water filling control.

READ THESE IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE FILLING HUMIDIFIERS

The OH-4 Humigel™ Replacement Kit is of critical importance for the successful use of our humidifiers. The ONLY reason for the use of the crystals is to reduce the risk of damage to your instrument from potential leaks. Humigel™ crystals are very hygroscopic and hold up to 400 times their weight in water. We add .6 cc’s of crystals prior to packaging. This is such a small quantity that you can barely see them at the bottom of the humidifier. The best way to tell if they are present is to shake the humidifier and hear them rattle around. .6 cc’s is the amount needed to turn the water into jelly. Unlike water, the jelly is semi-solid and will contain the water should the humidifier become damaged. With the crystals present, a damaged humidifier will become damp or have water spots but will not leak into your instrument.

More than .6 cc’s of Humigel crystals will reduce the ability of the humidifier to function. When there are too many crystals, the water stays suspended in the crystals, and will not evaporate through the fabric of the humidifier, and cannot humidify your instrument. After initially filling your humidifier with distilled water wait 10 minutes. When you look into the humidifier, it should look like clear small curd cottage cheese. If it doesn’t look this way, and you have standing water, you need to get a OH-4 Humigel™ Replacement Kit and replace the crystals. Each kit holds 5-6 refills. As long as you reseal the small zip lock bag inside the kit and leave the desiccant bag in place, the kit will last a long time. Without resealing and the desiccant bag, the crystals cake up with water absorbed from the air.

Most instruments only need seasonal humidification. Typically, the humidity drops in the fall and rises in the spring. When the spring arrives, we recommend that you remove the humidifier, wash all of the crystals out, and leave the cap loosely on the humidifier. If you do not remove the crystals and loosen the cap, the humidifier will shrink up, dry up and the crystals will stick together. In the fall, it is easy to damage the lining of the humidifier when trying to restore it to shape. The lining is only 1/1000th of an inch thick and can be damaged easily if it sticks to itself and the crystals, when the humidifier shrinks up and dries up if the lid is left on tight.

Practice-Right was developed and designed to help the player to form and maintain the correct right hand position. For the first time ever we have a device that addresses one of the trickiest parts in the process of studying classical guitar – Right Hand Posture. Correct hand posture has proven to be the major key to producing a quality tone and developing a good technique.

One of the most common mistakes among finger-style players is the collapsing of the hand and resting on the soundboard. Other common mistakes include over-arching of the wrist or kinking of the hand too much to the left or right side. These positions will limit playing abilities and can lead to wrist pain or serious hand injuries such as carpal tunnel and tendonitis.
